10 Reasons Why You Should Be Eating Lamb

We all know that lamb is good for us, but, do you really know HOW good?

•Lamb has fewer calories, saturated fat, and more Omega-3s than beef (about half of the Omega-3s found in Tuna... it’s called Land Salmon for a reason!)

•Omega-3s reduce inflammation, boost brain health AND guard against cancer and heart disease

•Lamb has 41% of the recommended daily value of B12 (digestive and nervous system health and energy)

•49% of the selenium that we need is in lamb! Why is that important? Well, because selenium is needed for a healthy thyroid, cancer protection, detoxification, and more.

Zinc, which plays a HUGE role in immune function, is covered here by pumping you full of 31% of yours when you consume lamb

•23% of your recommended daily value of Phosphorus (bones and teeth!) comes from lamb

•15% of your recommended daily iron intake is fulfilled by eating just a four ounce serving!

Lamb is also one of the best known sources of conjugated linoleic acid, or “CLA” (I told you about CLA when we talked about the health benefits of pastured chicken)

CLA has been linked to improved immune systems, inflammation reduction, blood sugar regulation, and even weight loss!

Ruminating animals are designed to eat hay and grass alone, not grain, so when they are raised as such, it is better for them... and you!

•Grass Fed lambs taste better, are happier, and actually are proven to be 15% leaner and have TWICE as much CLA than those raised with grain in the diet.

•Icelandic sheep are one of the purest breeds of sheep in the world (once an animal leaves Iceland, it can never return!😱), and are lean, and mild tasting (believe me, I won’t eat gamey-tasting lamb!). It is truly a gourmet meat!
