The Ups and Downs

The children have been under the weather (you know, that really nasty stuff that has been going around?), and with four littles, that definitely ain’t pretty! How do you get anything done when your hands are constantly full of worn out children that just want to be held all day? And don’t even get me started on nights! The thought of morning and coming duties makes me cringe.

But, the light at the end of the tunnel is always the extra time that we have just holding them and (semi)relaxing.

The days seem so much nicer outside because you can’t go out and enjoy it (or throw the children outside in it so they will stay out of your hair for a few moments).

AND, it also a great opportunity to sit down and plan for the year before us: delightfully flipping through the ten million seed catalogs that came in the mail (WHY did we sign up for so many again?), calculating the number of chicks to order, dreaming of the changes and improvements we would like to accomplish, and the list goes on.

Planning and designing is one of my favoritethings (I wonder how many times I can get away with another kitchen remodel🤔), and I am always researching and scheming! What tiny (and not-so-tiny) projects can I find for Mr. Pell to try out? (I tell myself that he loves that)

One of the many upsides to all of my mad-scientist ideas? You get to reap the rewards along with us!

New delicious recipes, ideas, and inspiration! Hooray!

I will quietly sidestep any mention of my not-so-great ideas and experiments. I will let you in on those another time (Hey, why not learn from my mistakes and get a little chuckle at my expense? A little I said- some things I am still a little sore about and am convinced they could have worked with a little tweaking!).

And the next time I am back, I am going to post a FANTASTIC lamb recipe that I made for New Year’s this January!

Stay tuned and check out our online Farm Store in the meantime!
