Our Unexpected Pie Ministry
I’m going to admit it, we started our pie business for the money.
There, I said it, and now you know: we need money to survive!
And the reason we started selling our pies is because we realized that they were just too dang good NOT to sell. It was like we had this secret that we needed to get out and share with all the other pie and dessert lovers out there.
And, I don’t think that’s all bad- everyone is good at something and should use it to their advantage.
What I didn’t know was how we were going to go from selling to serving.
And I don’t mean in a restaurant.
Over these past few years, we have seen what our pies are doing for people:
Made them remember Grandma and the holidays spent at her house.
Brightened up their day when they realized they still had a slice frozen, buried in the back of their freezer.
Have become the perfect gift to give away to friends and employees.
Brought numerous neighbors closer together (“Hey there, I just wanted to stop by and say ‘Hello.’ I brought you a pie too.”)
Are crowd-pleasers at wedding receptions and business conferences.
Picked up on their way to the hunting camp with the guys.
Are the perfect greeting to B&B guests when they check-in.
Console grieving family members when they come up for a funeral, or are the only thing a loved one suffering from chemo can keep down.
A special treat when all the sisters or daughters come up to visit from down state- they’ve come to expect them upon their arrival at Mom’s!
They’ve become a tradition that families look forward to: “Don’t worry, I already put the order in with Pell’s for the pies for Saturday night.”
Our pies have now lovingly become “Pell’s Pies.”
“Ooh, is that a ‘Pell Pie’?!”
Everyone wants a Pell Pie.
Because they’re family pies.
Pies that not only make you remember or allow you to love on yours a little more, but, for those that are hurting or don’t have a family, we are now theirs.
Thanks again so much for allowing our Pell Pies to serve you.
