Raw Milk is REAL Milk
Okay, so bad news: It’s illegal to purchase raw milk in the state of Michigan.
And I can’t sell you any of the glorious products listed above 👆
Wah, Wah, waaahhhh.
But, here’s the GOOD news: It IS legal to consume raw milk from… your very own dairy herd. 😱🐂💪
Yep, a herd share agreement is needed in order for you to obtain your milk.
A herd share (also known as a “cow share”) is where you, a share owner, pays the farmer (Yours Truly) to board your portion of the dairy herd, so that you can legally obtain your portion of fresh, grass fed milk from your cows:
First, you buy into the herd by purchasing a share, and then you pay a boarding fee every month to cover the cost of the feed, land, time, milking, equipment, etc.
For each share purchased, you will pick-up at the farm approximately one gallon of your milk per week (four gallons a month), filtered, bottled, and ready to be enjoyed!
Half Shares (about half a gallon a week at half the cost of a share and half the monthly boarding) and multiple shares available.
Here at Pell’s Pie Patch & Family Farm we raise grass fed, Guernsey & Jersey gals.
They are hardy, healthy, and beautiful: perfect for the U.P.❤️
Each one is disease-tested, gently hand milked, and grass fed, giving your family and ours, the best milk money can buy.
Diverse pastures, quality hay, and top-notch minerals, kelp, and salt make for a balanced diet (and milk!).
The milk is handled safely and responsibly, cooled to proper temperatures, and bottled for you with a tamper-proof cap.
As a share owner, you are also allowed your portion of the black gold (manure) for your garden.🌱
